I’m not currently a working journalist (though I am available for hire, especially on the editing side!), but below are a few pieces I’ve written that I’m proud of. When the name of an outlet is a link, you can click to view all the pieces I wrote for that outlet.
- I reviewed the film Changing the Game about trans kids in sports: “There’s all-out bigotry, and there’s all-out triumph. Changing the Game does well to offer both in a way that hits all the right notes.” (Autostraddle)
- This preview of Iowa women’s basketball’s 2020-21 freshmen highlights a now-household name in Caitlin Clark, whose college career has seen her become the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer. (The Next)
- When COVID-19 prematurely shut down the 2019-20 women’s NCAA basketball season, I spoke to their respective coaches about the abrupt end to IUPUI’s historic season and Marist’s past NCAA Tournament success. (Forbes)
- The 2010s saw a wealth of success from the Kelly Graves-coached Gonzaga and Oregon women’s basketball teams. Graves told me about each team’s Elite Eight runs and the similarities between their star point guards. (High Post Hoops)
- I talked to Baylor basketball star Lauren Cox and her sister Whitney of Lubbock Christian before their teams faced off in Baylor’s fourth annual Type 1 Diabetes Awareness Game. Both sisters are diabetic, and this was the first time they had played against each other as college athletes. (High Post Hoops)
